NVQ 6 in British Sign Language

If you are interested in NVQ 6 or Pre-NVQ 6 courses you are invited to apply to Signite now and attend the 21st July, 2012, assessment day. Special arrangements available on request.

Signature NVQ 6 Certificate in British Sign Language uses the National Language Standard (CILT, 2005), which define competent performance in British Sign Language (BSL) skills in both receptive (listening) and productive (speaking) units. It addresses the learning needs of those who already have BSL knowledge and skills at Level 3, NVQ 3 or Pre-NVQ 6 achievement.

Topics covered: productive skills of using complex language by giving presentations and taking part in discussions, negotiations and debates, and handling a wide range of social interactions in different settings.

Course members will eventually provide evidence for both units of their ability to use BSL by compiling a portfolio drawn from the themes of study covered by the course content. Both these units can be internally assessed at our centre, or forwarded on to an external assessor to check.
